For DDI subscribers, there’s a new article on Q’barra here:
There’s a second part in the wings that gets more into the “Blood” part, but this is a foundation for the unrest in the region. It also canonizes the “Dragonshard as residuum” thing I mentioned here a few weeks back, though I changed my formula for simplicity’s sake.
If you like the article and have an account on the WotC forums, post something on this thread so WotC knows that you want more Eberron support! I’d also appreciate it if you said what you’d like to see in the future, either there or here. Do you want more backdrops about locations? Specific countries? Organizations? Are you more interested in player-oriented material or DM material? Do you want more crunch or less? Now’s your chance to affect future support!
More Eberron for sure! I’ll post over at WotC, but I can’t do it at the moment (blocked by work.)
I’ll take any information, but I’d personally like stuff on continents other than Khorvaire. The ECG is pretty good with info about the main continent. I have no 3e Eberron material though, so honestly I’m happy with whatever 4E material comes out.
I think backdrops are cool. I’d love to see more material on the Lords of Dust, since they’re playing a critical role in my campaign. (They’re working on releasing Yeenoghu in secret in Znir.) The heroes will be traveling to the Demon Wastes as well, so I’ll devour info on that region also.
I’m definitely looking for DM-oriented material. My players just rely on me to tell them about the setting (they’re all Forgotten Realms guys.)
As for crunch vs. fluff, I’d prefer more fluff. New feats and such are cool, but as far as monsters, there are so many in the monster builder at this point that more just aren’t necessary. Besides, with the builder, I can construct my own. Non-monster crunch is fine though, and so are NPCs being statted. But if it’s just another goblin, I’d rather energy was spent elsewhere.
I haven’t read the whole Q’Barra article yet, but I’m very glad to see Eberron getting some support. It’s felt very anemic in 4E.
great article! I posted on the link to request more Eberron support. It truly is a great fantasy setting.
