Twitter: HellcowKeith

I’m in Sydney and still working away on The Fading Dream. However, my hosts convinced me to do something I’ve been meaning to do for a while, which is to get onto Twitter. So if you want to follow me there, my account is HellcowKeith. This is still going to be the place for pictures and travel & gaming articles, but hey, for the five second post, look there.

Some of you may be saying “Why Hellcow?” Others may know that Hellcow is my typical username for message boards (ENWorld.org, RPG.net, Wizards.com) but not know the story behind it. I love Diablo as much as the next gamer, but I was using Hellcow as my name before I ever found the Secret Cow Level. For me, it’s the name of the first piece of D20 work I ever had published – a short scenario written for Atlas Games’ En Route. You can find the scenario here:

As it turned out, this started a Hellcow franchise that continued in En Route 2 (“Hellcows”) and En Route 3 (“Hellcow 3: The Sacred Cow”). As it was my first published d20 thing and I’m generally fond of cows, I used it as my username when the WotC boards started up, long before I submitted Eberron… and when Eberron rolled around, I just decided to stick with it. The icon I use with it was designed by my friend Lee Moyer (see more of his work at www.leemoyer.com). He’s also designed a Have Dice Will Travel tour shirt that you’ll be seeing up on Cafe Press as soon as I get done with this novel, along with a few other odds and ends.

In Australian news: I’ve been pretty intent on my novel, so I haven’t had a chance to see too much of Sydney. However, what I have seen has been lovely, and my hosts Christopher and Lexa Adams have been great about putting up with the guest who’s just camping out on their sofa writing. I am, however, disappointed that you can’t get kangaroo on pizza.

    Hey Keith,

Awesome to hang out at GenConOz this year, love to have you back down under next year and I’m officially offering the space in my house if you are so inclined.

I will sweeten the deal by providing you with Solo during your stay and I will cook you the much coveted kangaroo pizza.

    Regards,
    Riley

Also, as promised a place to buy Solo online so that you can get it overseas!
